About Me

Hi, I’m Josie Valenta. Born in Vancouver, Washington, I have grown up with a passion for sports and media. I’ve always been drawn to the emotion that sports brought to me. Over the years, I’ve realized that what I love most about sports isn’t the game, but it is the emotion behind it all. That feeling has given me a passion for sports media, where I can express that emotion and share the story of sports through creativity, and media.

I currently attend Washington State University, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Public Relations and a minor in Sports Communication. I am currently a Creative Intern for WSU Football, it has been one of the best opportunities I have experienced. Whether I’m capturing exciting plays, planning content ideas, or filming funny interviews to showcase personalities, I love to share the moments that connect fans with athletes.

My Approach

Content Creation & Storytelling

I strive to create meaningful content that aims for engagement, brand identity, and authenticity. With planning weekly social calendars and creating content for platforms such as Instagram, X, TikTok, and Facebook, I understand how to reach audiences where they are, and tell a strong story.

Photography & Videography

Whether it is a simple iPhone clip, or using equipment, I always capture that moment to remember. I have experience using applications like Adobe Creative Suite and Clip pro. Fast paced environments, in sports and campus events, are something I love to capture. From pregame warm ups, to fan interaction, I focus on producing visuals that align with branding and engage audiences. I’m comfortable shooting, editing, and delivering content quickly for real time use across social platforms. 

Media Relations

I have great experience in clear and effective communication that strengthens relationships between an organization and its audiences. Drafting announcements, crafting emails, digital marketing, and managing social platforms, I am confident in effective communication. I understand how to maintain professionalism and timeliness while supporting core values, themes, and goals that align with the organization.
